Siquijor Sights and Activities
Here at Siquijor Divers Center, we know you will love hanging out and scuba diving, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boarding or just relaxing around the resort, but for those who want to see more of the island (and we highly recommend it), here are some suggestions
Lagnusan Falls
These beautiful waterfalls are only 10 minutes from the resort. They comprise of 17 waterfalls running through the jungle with the main falls having a beautiful pool at their base, which is good for a refreshing swim
For the adventure junkies, there are rope swings into the pool or you can jump off the top of the falls
Lanusan Falls incorporates a semi-steep track down to them, so some fitness is required
The Old Enchanted Balete Tree
The Old Balete Tree is said to be over 400 years old and hides mythical creatures
We like it because at its base is a small natural pool containing fish that love to eat the dead skin off your feet
Right off the side of the road, The Old Balete Tree is easy to get to and suitable for any level of fitness
It is located about 20 minutes from the resort
Cambugahay Falls
Cambugahay Falls is arguably the best waterfall on Siquijor Island that is most famous for its tiered levels, strikingly blue water, and freshwater cascades, all of which are surrounded by lush rainforest
The falls are around 30 minutes from the dive center
Paliton Beach
Paliton Beach is rated as one of the best beaches in Siquijor for its glistening white sands and palm tree fringed shoreline. This is one Siquijor tourist spot you do not want to miss!
Paliton Beach is less than 10 minutes from the dive center
Tubod Beach and Marine Sanctuary
Tubod Beach is the perfect place to just lie down on the fine, white sand and relax. The waters are calm, glass-like and ideal for wading or swimming
Tubod is virtually next to the dive center and less than 2 minutes by scooter
Sambulawan Underground River
Sambulawan Cave and underground River is a new attraction on Siquijor island that opened to the public in 2018. It is visited only accompanied by a guide, who is allocated when paying for the entrance to the cave
The cave consists of three branches, at the bottom of one of which flows a freshwater river with a length of about 200 meters. To overcome it, you have to go and swim on the water, for which a life jacket is issued at the entrance. After that, you will be offered to walk along the other two arms, which are filled with young stalactites and stalagmites and bats
The underground river is located just over 30 minutes from the resort, near Lazi church
Cantabon Cave
Located roughly in the center of the island, the Cantabon Cave can be found at the mountainous side of Mt. Bandila-an in the Barangay of Cantabon. The cave is one of the most visited tourist destination in the island of Siquijor with its impressing 800-meter-long cave
The cave is located about 30 minutes from the resort
Natural Healers, Sometimes referred to as witches
Until this day the so-called witches or healers, known as “mananambal” in local terms, practice their traditional healing process as sign of great culture
The fact that Siquijor had maintained these traditional way of healing is what makes the island a perfect mystery island to visit
St Isidore de Labrador Church, Lazi
The church, also known for its huge convent, was declared a National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum of the Philippines. It is also nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage list
Whether you are religious or not, Lazi church is always worth a visit
The church is about 30 minutes from the resort
Salangdong Beach
Salagdoong Beach is one of the best beaches in Siquijor, which is most popular for snorkeling around the colorful reefs, relaxing on the secluded beaches, and epic cliff jumping!
